Ultimate Singer-Songwriter Contest 4
January 26-29, 2012
ASTORIA, NY SEPTEMBER 23, 2011 - Waltz-Astoria
announced that it will be presenting its 4th Ultimate Singer-Songwriter Contest from the 26th through the 29th of January,
2012. The yearly event has become a favorite for audience and performers, drawing contestants from the entire tri-state area
playing to standing-room-only crowds.
The Competition will be begin on Thursday with the first of three nights
of qualifying rounds. Up to 20 singer-songwriters each evening will get an opportunity to perform two original songs, and
a panel of three judges will select the top three contender each night. (For contest schedules and rules,
please click here.) Previous judges have represented all aspects of the music industry: record labels, music and entertainment magazines, and
broadcasting. The three finalists of each night's qualifying as well as a Wild Card chosen by Waltz will perform
on Sunday, with the first, second, and third place winner selected by audience vote. (click here to see prizes)
Contest emee Pedro Gonzalez said,"All of the judges have been
encouraging and supportive in their comments to the performers. As industry decision-makers these are the people who
know what it takes to break through, and their feedback can provide valuable insight to aspiring artists."
The
first place winner of the contest receives a cash prize, trophy, and their own featured show at Waltz-Astoria. There is no
audition or entry fee required, and interested singer-songwriters are encouraged to sign up for the Waltz-Astoria newsletter
